About Me
G’day — I’m Deacon Vermaak, better known online as CommodoreMan.
I’m a bloke in a shed in Geelong, Victoria, keeping Holden’s legacy alive one build, rescue, and road trip at a time. I grew up around Aussie metal, and I’ve never shaken that itch for a proper Commodore — from stock V6 battlers to cammed 5-litre heroes.
What started as filming the odd shed job for mates has turned into a full-time thing — sharing the cars we grew up with, telling their stories, and proving you don’t need a million-dollar workshop to keep classics on the road. My content’s a mix of POV drives, barn finds, honest reviews, and a fair bit of shed chaos.
Around here, we live by a couple of rules:
— celebrate survivors, respect proper shed work, and don’t cut corners.
— we build, drive, and enjoy cars without wrecking them.
— the winner’s not the bloke with the fattest wallet, it’s the one who actually gives a stuff.
When I’m not filming or swinging spanners, I’m running the CommodoreMan online store — stickers, merch, and now the odd car raffle — to help fund the builds, gear, and trips that make all this possible.
This isn’t just about cars; it’s about keeping a bit of Aussie history alive and building a community that loves it as much as I do.
